The rumors were true, and the excitement is real—
Def Leppard will be headlining Night One of the Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John’s on Friday, July 25, 2025! Fans of classic rock and 80s anthems have reason to celebrate as the legendary band makes its long-awaited return to Newfoundland.
It’s been over 32 years since they rocked the stage here at the Labatt Ice Summer Blast in 1993, performing alongside Meat Loaf and Ugly Kid Joe at Quidi Vidi Lake (which is now home to the Iceberg Alley performance tent ). Now, they’re back, ready to bring their iconic hits like Pour Some Sugar on Me, Photograph, and Animal to the heart of St. John’s.
Joining Def Leppard on the festival’s opening night are Canadian rock greats Honeymoon Suite and Sam Roberts Band, making for an unforgettable night of music and nostalgia. And with the 2025 Canada Summer Games taking over in August, this year’s festival has moved to July, promising five days of incredible performances from July 25–29 in Churchill Park.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements as additional acts are expected in the coming weeks. This lineup is just the beginning!
