Churchill Park Music Festival 2026 – Night 2 Review

After an incredible opening night Friday , Saturday brought a completely different atmosphere to Churchill Park Music Festival. Country music fans packed the park for an evening filled with legendary artists, singalong anthems, and moments that felt like the soundtrack to so many childhood memories!

Karla Pilgrim

Opening Night 2 was Newfoundland’s own Karla Pilgrim, and what an incredible way to start the evening. All I can say is… wow.

The moment she started singing, I was completely blown away. Her voice is absolutely phenomenal, and she had the audience captivated from the very first song. It’s always special to see local artists take the Churchill Park stage, and Karla proved exactly why she deserved to be there.

She brought so much passion and confidence to her performance, and you could tell how much the opportunity meant to her. I honestly couldn’t believe how incredible her vocals were.

Amanda Marshall

The second artist to take the stage was Amanda Marshall, and I have to admit—I only really knew her from hearing “Let It Rain” on the radio over the years. But after seeing her live…

I’m officially a fan.

Amanda’s voice is just as powerful in person as it is on her recordings. From the moment she stepped onto the stage, she commanded the audience’s attention with incredible vocals and a stage presence that felt both effortless and genuine.

Even though I wasn’t overly familiar with her catalogue beforehand, she had me completely hooked by the end of her set. That’s the beauty of live music—you can walk into a performance simply knowing an artist’s biggest hit and leave as a brand-new fan!

Elle king

Next up was Elle King, and while I had heard her before thanks to her hit “Ex’s & Oh’s,” I’d never had the chance to see her perform live.

Safe to say… she did not disappoint.

Elle brought so much personality and energy to the Churchill Park stage. From the moment she walked out, she had the crowd in the palm of her hand. Her powerful vocals, infectious energy, and fun stage presence made for an unforgettable performance, and she proved she’s so much more than just one hit song.

One thing that really stood out to me, though, was how much she cared about the audience.

During her set, she had to stop the show a few times because of medical emergencies in the crowd. Rather than carrying on, she made sure the people who needed help were being taken care of before continuing the performance.

It was a reminder that while the music is important, the safety of the fans always comes first.

Once everything was okay, she jumped right back into the show without missing a beat, and the crowd responded with even more energy and appreciation.

After seeing Elle King live, I walked away with a whole new level of respect for her—not only as a performer, but as someone who genuinely cared about the people standing in front of the stage.

The Chicks

Finally, it was time for the headliners of the night: The Chicks. This was a performance I had been looking forward to for a long time. Their music was such a big part of my childhood, and getting the chance to hear these songs live at Churchill Park felt incredibly special.

Now I wish I could have stayed for the entire performance and given a full review of their set from beginning to end. Unfortunately, partway through the show, I started dealing with a really intense headache that became too difficult to push through. I stayed as long as I could, but eventually I had to make the decision to head out and take care of myself.

Before leaving, I was lucky enough to experience some incredible moments from their set, including hearing “Gaslighter” live. Hearing a song that has been such a major part of their story performed on the Churchill Park stage was something I’ll never forget.

Even though I didn’t get to see the entire show, the moments I did experience were absolutely unforgettable. The Chicks proved why they’ve remained such an influential and beloved group for decades—their harmonies, musicianship, and connection with their fans are truly something special.

While I wish I could have stayed until the final song which was goodbye Earl! , I’m still incredibly grateful that I got to experience even part of their performance. Sometimes live music moments aren’t always about seeing every second of a show—they’re about the memories you take home with you.

Final thoughts

I got to say that Night 2 of Churchill Park Music Festival was a night filled with incredible voices, unforgettable performances, and moments that brought me right back to my childhood! And That’s one of the things I love most about live music: sometimes a single song, a single moment, or a single performance can stick with you forever.

Night 2 was a beautiful reminder of why festivals like Churchill Park Music Festival are so special. They bring people together, create new memories, and allow us to experience the music that has shaped our lives in a whole new way.

And Even with an early exit, I walked away from the night incredibly grateful—and I’ll always remember hearing those childhood songs come to life on the Churchill Park stage!

HonestlyI can’t wait to see what Night 3 of the Churchill Park Music Festival has in store this weekend. With Keith Urban taking the stage as the headliner, I already know it’s going to be another unforgettable night filled with incredible music, amazing performances, and memories that will last a lifetime.

After two incredible nights at Churchill Park, the excitement is only getting bigger.
